Mental Health Representation Book List

Mental Health Representation Book List

Since this month is Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m doing a special post. I like Mental Health Awareness Month because it’s very important to have more open discussions about mental health issues. Mental health is just as important as Physical Health and shouldn’t be stigmatized. Going to therapy should be just as normal as getting a doctors check-up or going to the dentist.

When I read a book that does a good job portraying what it’s like to have depression and/or inattentive ADHD, it’s a very validating experience. I don’t often get triggered when reading these books because accurate mental illness representation is very important to me. More people should read stories about characters with different types of mental health issues not just to find others like them but also to learn more and understand others.

Here’s a list of Books with Mental Health Representation that I have read, have heard about, or are on my TBR list.
